A nice improvement on the map feature for geocaching.com is currently in beta. On your geocaching.com account page click on the Map It icon and follow the link at the top of the page: View results in Google Maps (beta)

Works pretty slick.

Thought I would re-use this topic to post this.  For those of you that are wondering about the status of the maps on the cache page there is a post in the forums here that describes it.

The gist of it is that they will be offering a choice by user ID as to which maps you would like to see on the cache pages.

I missed this post while we were away.

These maps make is REAL easy to add caches to a bookmark. I think pretty slick is an understatement. It's more like WOW!!

WOW!  Calling all Cachers!

Check out the new "Find Caches along a Route" feature on your profile page on the right hand side.  To say that my prayers have been answered is a vast understatement.

I tried it using Google Earth to create a route.  You can specify how far off of a route that GC.com should look for caches and then pocket query it and boom!  You're on your way!

WOOT!

It would seem that you don't need to be a premium member to use this feature!

I'm not sure but I think that we can make the routes up and save them etc but the pocket queries would still need a paid up membership at geocaching.com to get the info down loaded.  The system sure works great!  I have planned a tentive road trip and this will make it all simple to go after all those caches along the way.
