MBGA Chatroom.
Permalink Closed

Well, it was a slow afternoon....

I'm now running a chat server dedicated (at the moment) to providing a chat channel for the association. For those familiar with IRC, the server is irc.grnbrg.org, and the channel is #mbga.

Clients:

  • Mozilla -- Mozilla has a built-in client.

  • Firefox -- Download and install the chatzilla plugin .

  • mIRC -- A stand-alone IRC client for Windows. Available here.

  • Gaim -- A standalone chat client supporting just about every chat protocol there is, for Windows and Linux.

Once you've got a client installed, clicking on the URL irc://irc.grnbrg.org/mbga will connect you.

Try it out, see if you like it.

I'll check it out.  Might as well take this sport back to the roots it started in!

A nice java-based client. Push the button, and you're there.

I'm too lazy to create a shortcut to this, so I'm bumping it back up to the first page of the board.

Well, when I posted this, I had my clients confused. mIRC, while an excellent Windows client, is shareware. The one I intended to recommend is "Virtual IRC", which is freeware and available from http://www.visualirc.net/.

Ertyu will soon be adding a link to the chatroom off the main www.mbgeocaching.ca page.
