Here is a do-it-yourself gps kit.  Not the swankiest GPSr out there, but you'd have definite cred if you ever got it working.

Canadian Tire has the Explorist 500 for $200 (#79-3897-2)

You could try price matching it at Best Buy to get it even cheaper.

GPSCENTRAL.CA sells the Garmin eTrex Venture cx for 248.00 and you can get the 50.00 US rebate if you purchase before the end of the year. That would put it in the same price range as the Magellan at Canadian tire.

I'm not sure which unit is better, this one or the Magellan. I bought the Venture and I'm really happy with it.

For those cachers with new X series garmins or anyone else that needs microSD or SD memory. Dell has 1gb microsd with sd adapter for $29 with free shipping.
