Hey guys,

I encountered a problem last week when I picked up a Jeep Travel Bug from "Witches Brew". I copied down all of the numbers on the tag, and dropped it at one of the next caches I found, "ESP Travel Bug Hotel".

However, when I got home and tried to log the TB's movements, I got a "No Match" message on any tracking number I tried to put into the log page, and thus it won't allow me to log it. I've tried every number I had, plus the "reference number" given on the TB page. I've also tried contacting the last three people to handle this TB and nobody has had any useful information as to which number they used.

My desperation was such that I went back to ESP Travel Bug Hotel today to see if I missed any numbers, and I hadn't, which made me quite exasperated.

Any advice on what I can do? Right now, geocaching.com still thinks this TB is in "Witches Brew".

Thanks in advance!

A common error is mixing uo the letters I & O with the numbers 1 and 0.

The reference number on the TB page is not for logging; it's just for reference. The 3053 is also no good for logging.

There must have been something else on the tag.

I feel quite embarrassed that this was the actual problem. It had actually occurred to me, but I dismissed it right away, likely thinking some egotistical line like, "I could never make that mistake!"
Thanks, Peter and Gloria!
