Hello all, new to this web site and this game, hope I'm doing it right. I believe the photo Three Ts posted on Oct 13 06 was taken from N49.54.419  W097.06.758.

Good work, cachegrab! But for verification purposes, you need to post a picture of your own from those coordinates.
Then the fun starts! You can then pick a location of your own for people to go and find.
If you are having trouble getting a picture posted, email me lizardo@shaw.ca and I will help you get it posted.

Cachegrab e-mailed the pictures for me to host for him.

Here is the response to Tobey's picture:

And here is the response.  I'm not sure if the perspective was on purpose, but I like it!:

Cachegrab, would you mind posting the partial coordinate hint?

Didn't realize my camera was upside down until after I took the shot, but I liked the perspective too. 49.--.---N  097.--.---W

Cool building!

Located at: N49° 53.775', W97° 8.775'

Interesting that the decimals are identical!

Next image. I've been waiting for a while to use this one... There's a pretty obvious hint that will make Googling this one easier, but it's still a damn cool spot. It'll shake your teeth out if you're close when it's in use. And it gets a lot of use.

I doubt I'll need to be more specific, but initial co-ords are:

N49° 5_._ _ _', W97° 1_._ _ _'

Have fun with this one!

If its the location I am thinking it is (near a unique structure), I actually surveyed those diamonds into location many, many years ago during a track maintenence job which replaced both of them in the same day.  It's not often you get to block both tracks of the mainline in 1 day.  I'd check tomorrow morning but I'm off to Kennedy, SK bright and early.

I don’t have grnbrg’s lenses, but this should be pretty close. When there were overhead signals here, I used to sit on the catwalk, have a beer and watch the trains pass underneath.

I know exactly where this is...but I'm not going that way any time soon...  I found a pic on an online virtual tour of the location.

I know where that is too.  It's the dome at Union Station
at N49° 53.334  W097° 08.076

I took a slight detour on my walk home from work today to snap a pic and mark
the coordinates.

Edited 400 times to figure out how to get the photo to show up in
here!

Editing again because I just re-read the rules and see that you were supposed to post a photo from the same location as the original was taken. I uploaded a photo that showed a bit more detail to identify where the photo was taken. I do have one of just the dome though, so here it is:

It looks like we’ve got a pair of wieners, er, I mean winners :) Congratulations!

This seems like a great opportunity to implement our GeoPic founding father’s suggestion of starting a second Geogame – GeoPics thread.

So how about it – do candaceandwill want to post the next GeoPic to this thread and junglehair start a second one? Or vice versa? Then Mr grnbrg won’t be bouncing up and down on his seat so much waiting for the next pic :)

I will be near this fella sometime soon.  But I believe a certain Stuntman works pretty close to here.  Let's see if I can beat the mighty Stuntman...

I suspect I'll be enduring a considerable amout of abuse right away.  I just put up with it because they really don't know any better.  It is sad really, they just can't help themselves.  Maybe I should host a telethon.

I did my best on the coordinates.  I forgot to turn on the GPS till I was parked downtown.  It SAID the accuracy was 6M, but who knows.

Here's another self-portrait.  I feel this picture captured my playful essence.

Here are the partial coordinates

Geez Louise, a Lizardo monopoly on the Geopic game with a lizard-centric motif! Forget hosting the telethon, you should be the beneficiary of the donations with the help you need working out of the trunk of your car, driving around town taking pictures.

Didn’t have to do any wet-work for this one - more of a CSI reenactment. The coordinates should be pretty close - I tried to place myself in the shooters position.

BTW Good job.

TurdleEggs: Good Job.  Although you appear to be on the wrong side of the building.  I was standing closer to the beer vendor.  A habit I have had my entire adult life.

Stuntman: Very funny. I'd like to remind you that I have some great places picked out to hide a body.  Not a threat, I'm just sayin'.

That Geopic #2 thread is putting me to shame! Let's see how fast Tannasaurus and ertyu get this one:

It's somewhere within the Perimeter.

Pffff. You'll have to do better than that, TIMMAY.

49° 52.662", 97° 8.671

I've got the next one picked out. I should have it up tomorrow...

Wow! Alright, the gloves are off. If I ever get this thing back again you may have to wear protective clothing to get the pic!

Nice images BTW, and good work :)

Awesome idea, grnbrg!

I'm afraid my uber-junky camera doesn't have the macro lens capability of grnbrgs.  This is as close as I dared.  I wonder whose bootprints I was standing in when I took this pic.  They seemed too fresh to be grnbrgs.

My gpsr had a meltdown just before I got there and I had to re-initialize it on-site.  Not good when there is a monolith of an apartment block just south of you.  22m accuracy was all I could muster.

Watch this space for the next geopic.
