Shortly after the Spanish conquest of Guatemala, the first capital was on a site part-way up this mountain. It was destroyed by a flood and mudslide when an earthquake let loose the water from the crater, and the capital of Guatemala was moved down the valley to the current Antigua. The original site is a village now known as "Ciudad Vieja", ("The Old City").

You're right and the second move was due to earthquakes in the area.  The ball is in your court.  Where will you go?

This GeoGame is called, "Wherzit" so...

you have to respond with the coordinates for this image.

For bonus marks, describe what is happening there.

Wahoo! I finally got one while ohmic and the others are (I assume) sleeping!

This is the location of Burning Man.

40 46.195
119 13.227

[wiki]
Burning Man is an eight-day-long festival organized by Black Rock City, LLC, under the guidance of founder Larry Harvey. The festival is held annually and ends on the American Labor Day holiday in September. The festival takes place on the playa of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, 90 miles (150 km) north-northeast of Reno. Though the specific location on the playa changes from year to year, the location has been quite constant in recent years. The temporary city is an experiment in community, radical self-expression, and radical self-reliance. The event takes its name from the ritual of burning a large wooden sculpture of a man on the sixth day.

I like this twist to the game.  Here is my contribution.
I have no idea what the story is on this.  I would like to know more about it.
Hint 1 : It is in Canada ... for now.
Hint 2 : The island is 50 KM across.
Hint 3 : X2FP

It looks like you were hoping for more of a mystery there. I was in a hurry to try out this mystery on the wherzit sleuths.

It is in Manitoba. We were scouting this spot for a potential cache when we noticed something odd parked here. Whatizit and wherezit?

Bonus marks for the name of the Canadian politician who set foot on there recently.

Tricky, tricky, Jimbo2... That's the Titanic again!

As simple as a cross-check between the two posts.

Well, isn't that just swell?

Good thing I came back and checked so soon, or it might have been snapped up from me! And I had my contribution all ready too!

Anyways, it looks to be the location of CARHENGE, a replica of Stonehenge, located just north of the town of Alliance, Nebraska. [wikipedia] Carhenge is constructed of vintage American automobiles, all covered with gray spray paint. Built by Jim Reinders, it was dedicated at the June 1987 summer solstice. During the summer of 2006, a visitors' center was being constructed to service the site. [/wikipedia]

Phew!

Looks kind of neat, in an out-of-the-way, nobody-knows-I'm-here location...

Alright, then.

This shouldn't be too hard, but it may require you to do a bit of sleuthing.

You need to find the coordinates of the TWO locations of the statue pictured below. Exact coordinates preferred, but I will accept approximate coordinates, so long as the locations are correct.

Statue -- Wherezit?

Viel glück!

The bronze statue is of Harry Colebourn, and Winnie the bear.
The 2 statues are @ London Zoo, and Winnipeg zoo.

London co-ords are:
N 51° 32.140 W 000° 09.358

Winnipeg co-ords are roughly:
N 49° 52.403 W 097° 14.500

Look on this web page to see photo of statue:
http://www.poohcorner.com/pooh.html

Taken from above link:
"In 1999 a party of officers and men from the 34th Fort Garry Horse visited London Zoo and unveiled a bronze sculpture by Bill Epp of Harry Colebourn and Winnie . A copy of this statue also stands in the Winnipeg Zoo."

I will accept your answer, Jimbo2, even though you clearly swiped the coordinates from the Camels, Lions & Tigers cache. Haha! Well done!
I visited the London Zoo last February and was pleasantly surprised to find the statue in the picture (which is the London one) and the plaque which made reference to the Assiniboine Park Zoo.
The ball is in your court, Jimbo2!

That was a tough one but I recognized the awning on Ruby's diner.  This would be the set of Corner Gas in Rouleau Saskatchewan.

Yep, that's correct. And the co-ords are very good, too. Even though the set doesn't show up on the sat. image, the pointer is on the location......
Corner Gas is one of my favorite shows.
You're up, MBeans!
